RARE MS64 GW-261 Washington Security Sommer Islands Hogge NGC Copper Medal

32mm, Copper. Musante GW-261, Baker-615.

This rare variety was struck by Dr. Montroville Wilson Dickeson, a numismatic researcher who created numerous struck copies of early American pieces. The Washington left obverse was also used to strike Baker-530. The reverse represents a circa 1600’s Bermuda Hogge Money shilling.

Obverse: Right facing, undraped bust of Washington; “* George Washington * Security”

Reverse: Center, “XII” over wild board. “* Sommer * Islands” around
